When Life Imitates The Wire of the Day: Baltimore Sun crime reporter Justin Fenton came across an interesting item in the local police blotter. It seems a man bearing the same name as The Wire‘s notorious hood Robin Hood, Omar Little, was arrested last night “on a handgun charge.”
Fenton reached out to show runner David Simon, who said the fictional character was not based on a single person, but is actually a composite of several individuals, hence the existence of a law-skirting Baltimorean named Omar Little is “coincidence, completely.”
